Wednesday Wisdoms | Voice of Men | wisdoms . . . for our growth: Lao Tzu’s most known sayings . . .

I left the Wednesday slot on the Blog free purposefully, intuitively wanting to know what would “flow in”. Wisdom is what seems to want to flow . . . but maybe not every Wednesday, so maybe there’ll be a blog or post of some kind, and maybe not. As long as the inspiration keeps coming, I’ll keep going with it.

This series of inspirations is a new way of distilling wisdom and passing it onto you . . . “Voice of Men”. This week Lao Tzu‘s is the voice of men’s Wisdom, and his most known wisdom writings.

Great Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu Best Quotes

.

“I only have just 3 things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These 3 are your greatest treasures”. Lao Tzu

Lao Tzu was an Ancient Chinese philosopher, and he made a great contribution to philosophy: said to have been the sole author of the Tao Te Ching and passing down great wisdom to us. It may be that “Lao Tzu” was a few people, the name can also mean “the old boy”, and in recounting the writing of the Tao Te Ching, recorders of the times said it was written in one night prior to him leaving town on being disgusted by the behaviour he saw all around him. “Tao” means “how” means “god” means “mystery” means existence or “mother”; “Te” is “Spirit” “virtue” or “mental strength”; and “Ching” means “changes” or “circumstances” . . . you can play around with the various versions of what this might mean to you.

.

“Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness.”
